3 Clever Tips & Tricks So You Never Leave Home Without It!
February 11th, 2015
I am excited today to introduce you today to my friend, Lee of CoCo Crochet by Lee. She is a fabulous person, a great personal friend, and a very talented crochet designer. You can find Lee online here:
I signed up for a wonderful class, taught by my now friend, Dianne, when my daughter was born. I was a new mom looking for an activity outside the house. I loved the class, and went home to practice. I’ve been crocheting every day ever since.
My design inspiration initially came from my son, born 4 years after my daughter. I wanted to make him special hats, as I couldn’t find cute things for boys very easily. There are so many adorable things for girls in shops, but it’s hard to come by cute boy things. It was great to be able to make him crocheted things for us to enjoy.
I usually work with medium weight yarn as I’m very fond of making amigurumi. Medium weight yarn holds up really well, and is very firm, perfect for stuffed toys. I’m not one to prefer a particular brand, rather, I go for color. If I can find the exact color for the design I have in mind, I will scoop it all up.
I created a Freddy Kruegar doll pattern, and it was given to Freddy Kruegar himself (Robert Englund) at a convention. I have a photo of him holding my doll and smiling with his fierce happy smile.
I am an enthusiastic reader! My husband and I both are. We are trying to instill our love of books in our two kids. I just recently finished reading the Harry Potter series to my daughter (she’s in grade 2) and it was a wonderful experience for both of us.
If I am not crocheting, I am more often than not, deep into social media. I live there.
I’m very lucky to have a wonderful support network of family and friends, cheering me on with my crochet work. It’s really fantastic to find something that you love to do everyday, and it’s especially amazing when you have such a great group of people behind you. I would just like to let them know how much they mean to me, all of them!
