5 DIY Baby Gifts for Baby Girls
June 11th, 2015
My best friend just told me that she’s having a baby! After I hugged and congratulated her, I did what all good crocheters do, go straight to Ravelry and plan her gifts. I love to shower new babies with as many pairs of booties that I can manage to make in time. She isn’t far enough along to know the gender yet, so that gives me plenty of time and I’m just planning for both. Here are some of favs for Spring and Summer. Watch next week for the post with baby booties for cooler weather – this baby is coming in February so I’ll have to be prepared for cool and warm seasons.
1. Sierra MaryJanes by Inventorium – This was the first pattern I bought when my friend told me she was pregnant. Alana from Inventorium has gorgeous patterns in her shop with great details.
2. Old Rose Baby Booties by Mon Petit Violon – These booties are a quick work up and the end product is very elegant.
3. Fiona’s Baby Booties by Oombawka Design – A great FREE pattern! These look like the perfect summer sandals for little feet and think of all the color possibilities.
4. Crete Sneaker by Inventorium – I can’t really say enough good things about Inventorium’s shop. This was the first pattern that I ever bought from her and I have made them in blues and pinks. I can’t ever keep these stocked in my etsy shop, people snatch them up right away.
5. Simply Summer Sandals by Two Girls Patterns – The detail work on these booties is phenomenal.
6. Cheeky Monkey Booties by HodgePodge Crochet – Here is a fun FREE pattern. Check out her blog post for lots of monkey options.
7. Chocolate Baby Booties by Mon Petit Violon – Simple, timeless, and versatile. I love these in neutral colors but I think they would also look fabulous with bright colors.
8. Molly Summer Slippers by Mamachee – This is another of my absolute favorite baby gifts. These booties stay on those little feet.
9. Bumpy Baby Booties by HodgePodge Crochet – Tanya shares a fun textured pattern on her blog.
10. Daisy Braided Strap Booties by Mon Petit Violon – I’m in love with the braided strap on these booties. It’s precious.
11. Too Cute Mary Jane with Gathering by Two Girls Patterns – I’ve made several pairs of these Mary Janes and they are always a hit at the baby showers. They look great in pink, cream, yeah pretty much any color.
12. Strawberry Baby Booties by Oombawka Design – Can you believe this is a FREE pattern? They look fantastic.
It looks like I have my work cut out for me. My projects are lined up for the next 7 1/2 months, haha! And I haven’t even touched the baby boots yet. That’s next on my list 🙂
Happy Crocheting!
