Fun Feet for Kids and Babies
December 22nd, 2015
When I was first starting out with crochet, I didn’t do much amigurumi. But after seeing so many adorable patterns, I had to jump in and see what everyone was talking about. Today we bring you an Owl Friday Face-off from two of my favorite pattern designers, Lilla Bjorn Crochet and Divine Debris.
EDIT: Congratulations to Lilla Bjorn Crochet for winning this week’s Friday Face-off! Her Dancing Owl is 50% off through Sunday night February 28th, PST! Use code TPP50 at checkout on Ravelry.
If you are not familiar with “Friday Face-off”, this is how it works. We choose two themed patterns and put them to a vote on our blog on Fridays. On Saturday morning, the votes are tallied and the winning pattern is 50% off through the weekend! This post will be updated on Saturday morning with the winning design and the coupon code.
You may have seen this feature on Happilyhooked.com but we have now partnered with them to have the Friday Face-off on The Crochet Cafe!
This week’s patterns are the Willow Snow Owl by Divine Debris and the Dancing Owl by Lilla Bjorn Crochet. Click the photos below to take a look on Ravelry and add the patterns to your favorites while you’re there.
Happy Crocheting!

Do you have a yarn recommendation for the dancing owl or for Amigurumi in general? The yarn suggested doesn’t appear to be easily ordered from the US. I only checked woolwarehouse’ website. Thanks!

She used a DK wool/acrylic blend. For this pattern, you could really choose any DK acrylic, wool, cotton, or any blend of those, and have a really nice project. With amigurumi in general, usually gauge isn’t essential and so I recommend choosing a yarn that you feel comfortable with since usually you need very tight stitches. If you are new to amigurumi, I would choose a soft ww, such as Red Heart Soft or I Love This Cotton. Both have a wide variety of colors. For DK amigurumi, I love to use Bernat Cotton-ish, but the colors are a little more limited.
